Spring Cleaning: What Have I Been Up To?
Award News: I am delighted to announce that I’m one of this year’s Indianapolis Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Recipients! Thank you to everyone who made this award happen. Read more in today’s issue of IBJ or online here.
So what else have I been up to? I've been working on some exciting projects the last few months.
Archiving for the City of Indianapolis' Department of Metropolitan Development [photos above]. I'm finding really interesting historic planning materials, renderings, renovation plans, and my favorite thing in the world - unbuilt/rejected building proposals!
Continuing to develop the Voices of Central State Hospital project in collaboration with the Indiana Medical History Museum. I've been working on my bibliography on mental hospital architecture, landscape, and design, and laying down the groundwork for the upcoming oral histories. Interested in learning more? Check out the updated Voices of Central State Hospital landing page for more details.
Researching & curating the Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana's exhibit, "Unwelcomed: A Fair Housing History of Sales & Lending Discrimination." Official press release dropping soon regarding the exhibit opening! Stay tuned and mark your calendars for April 11th - the signing of the Fair Housing Act of 1968.
Researching downtown land use: I've been working historic context reports for exciting projects happening downtown. It's a little too soon to say much more, but stay tuned for public engagement opportunities happening in the near future.
As always, thank you for your continued support. I am overwhelmed with gratitude.
