2021 Program Schedule Wrap

As 2021's public programming and lectures wrap in the next month or so to make way for the holiday season, I thought I'd share where you can find me for the last of my public talks & tours for the year:

  • 10/24: White River conversation at Southwestway Park
  • 10/26: Redlining Fellowship talk at the Public Library Central Branch
  • 11/5: Spirit & Place program at the Garfield Park Arts Center

First up, on Sunday October 24 is the last of our seven-part community conversation series on the White River, sponsored by the White River Vision Plan, Hamilton County Tourism, and Visit Indy. Please join us at Southwestway Park (3400 Mann Road) at 1pm to learn more about the next phases of the Vision Plan and the historic context of White River through Marion County.

Free, details here.

Next, on Tuesday October 26 at 7pm at the Public Library Central Branch is a presentation on additional redlining research I’ve worked on as part of my Indiana Humanities racial justice research fellowship, called “A Judgment Call: Indianapolis, Redlining, and Unjust Legacies.”

Lastly, I’ll be back at the annual Spirit & Place Festival on Friday November 5th at 7pm discussing power, monuments, and public spaces, at the Garfield Park Arts Center alongside experts Danicia Monét and Dr. Paul Mullins. This program kicks off an exhibit in the Arts Center space.

I'm looking forward to these last few programs before a winter full of archiving projects and oral history projects really take off. Stay tuned for more details and findings as those projects develop into 2022.
