Spring Cleaning 2023

It's been awhile since I've updated website visitors about my work. I’ve been continually working on larger projects previously discussed on the blog. But there are a few new items in my portfolio:

  • Newfields Exhibit Opening: I'm part of The Looking Glass Alliance, a group of community curators working with Newfields/the Indianapolis Museum of Art to reinterpret their American Art Gallery. Our new exhibit, "Work in Progress: Conversations About American Art" opens on May 27th.
  • Housing Discrimination Exhibit: The Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana's housing discrimination exhibit, "Unwelcomed: A Fair Housing History of Sales & Lending Discrimination," continues to travel throughout the city. The two-sided twelve panel exhibit is currently at the IUPUI Campus Center.
  • Textbook: I'm writing an open-source textbook on social action writing & activism with a group of brilliant local community scholars. The textbook will cover activism in terms of writing, rhetoric, archives, journalism, etc. and has a tentative publishing date of 2024.
  • Theologian-in-Residence: As part of the textbook writing process, the First United Methodist Church of Boulder graciously allowed us to stay in one of their cabins up in the mountains outside of Boulder. For 12 days I am a "Theologian-in-Residence" and am looking forward to speaking with the congregation about spatial equity and community archives work.
Here are some views of my hikes as I take screen breaks/writing breaks.
